The Mark Hotel
25 East 77th Street at Madison Avenue , New York NY United States
The Mark, located a stone’s throw from Central Park, takes service and design to a supreme level—unparalleled rooms & suites, and a full-floor Penthouse, designed by the legendary Jacques Grange, Pierre Passebon and Piero Lissoni, combine grandeur, color, and artistry. With 5-Star services such as in-room service from Frédéric Fekkai’s Salon Mark, and 24-hour in-room dining provided by Chef Jean Georges Vongerichten, no courtesy has been overlooked.

At the Center of Chic

Since first opening its doors in 1927, The Mark has been New York’s premiere landmark hotel. The hotel is currently undergoing a total transformation. The exquisite new design, overseen by legendary designer Jacques Grange, will include artworks created by celebrated artists who have been commissioned to create one-of-a-kind pieces for The Mark Collection. This Upper East Side address is the most coveted location in all of Manhattan. Sophisticated, chic and stylishly comfortable, The Mark is just steps away from Central Park, world-renowned museums and galleries. Madison Avenue with its renowned shops and restaurants provides the best in Manhattan.

Jacques Grange, Designer Extraordinaire

For years the undisputed purveyor of elegance, design and decoration in all France—if not the world—the legendary Jacques Grange’s extraordinary design talent has long been sought for his innate sense of comfort and chic, capped with high visual style. Grange is the reason that The Mark will be known for decades to come as one of the most splendid addresses in the world.
At The Mark, Grange’s personal philosophy—balancing elements of grandeur, color, artistry, intimacy and a grain of humor—is perfectly realized. Grange created suites sublime that are truly customized, from the exquisitely designed furniture to the specially made fabrics; from the coffered ceilings to the oak floors; from the tailored Boffi kitchens to the Grand Hotel-inspired baths. The exquisitely detailed hotel rooms on the lower floors and the seductive ground-floor public rooms are also all designed by Grange.
Monsieur Grange, awarded the grade of Chevalier de Légion d’honneur in 2007 by the French government, sets a new standard with The Mark as the 21st century’s exemplar of luxury, comfort and imagination.

Pierre Passebon

Voici Pierre Passebon—Jacques Grange’s collaborator, and a
genius all his own. Witty, erudite and gifted with two of design’s
most demanding and daring eyes, Pierre Passebon has made his Paris
furnishings boutique Galerie du Passage into an unrivaled destination,
cultivating and presenting the freshest and most exciting group of artists
and artisans today.
Pierre, working in concert with his close friend Monsieur Grange,
commissioned some of these artists to create delightful, intriguing and
one-of-a-kind furnishings and artworks that are now being created exclusively for The Mark, and that will become a permanent part of
The Mark Collection when the hotel opens.

What was once valued as great design is now valued as great art and
thereby avidly collected. The one-of-a-kind, specially commissioned pieces
at The Mark make a rarefied world, chic and delightful, where design and
art have together created the most fantastic offspring.

One of modernism’s most famous collaborations, Mr. Lissoni and Boffi have been creating the world’s most striking modern kitchens for more than 20 years. It was his work with Boffi that, in 1985, first propelled Mr. Lissoni’s prominence as a designer, kicking off a career in which he has put forth hundreds of iconic works for design’s most esteemed names.
A multitalented designer who was inducted into the Interior Design Hall of Fame in 2005, Mr. Lissoni graduated from Milan Politechnic and started Studio Lissoni in 1986. He has left no design stone unturned, having set his unerring eye to lighting, kitchens and baths, signage, furniture, packaging, accessories and corporate identity campaigns.
